Happy New Year 2025!
ISRO successfully DOCKS satellites in Space!
India has achieved a significant milestone in space exploration by successfully completing its first space docking mission on January 16, 2025. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) launched the Space Docking Experiment (SpaDex) on December 30, 2024. It involved two small spacecraft, "Target" and "Chaser," which were launched into low Earth orbit and successfully docked in space. This achievement places India alongside the United States, Russia, and China as one of the few countries with this capability.
The successful docking demonstrates India's growing space prowess and is seen as a crucial step for future missions, including satellite servicing, lunar exploration, and the development of a space station. India's space ambitions also include launching a crewed mission, building a space station by 2035, and exploring Venus in 2028. Read more.

Colossal - It’s official, this is the wildest of everything we’ve seen on Speciale Focus so far!
Colossal Biosciences has raised $200 million in Series C funding at a $10.2 billion valuation, marking a significant jump from its previous $1.5 billion valuation two years ago. The company is focused on resurrecting extinct species, including the woolly mammoth, Tasmanian tiger, and dodo bird, using advanced genetic techniques like CRISPR and artificial wombs. Colossal aims to leverage its de-extinction technologies to create revenue streams through government collaborations and the sale of biodiversity credits. In addition to species resurrection, the company is spinning off businesses, such as a platform for computational biology and plastics breakdown, positioning itself as a leader in synthetic biology with potential applications in human healthcare and agriculture.
